So possibly for the first time I can remember we have the opportunity to get a good estimate of how many PS4s are in the retail channel.
PS4 sits at 20.2 million sell through at the end of February. Estimates going around suggest 800K to 1 million sell through in March. Taking the lower end we have a fairly reliable estimate of at least 21 million sell through by the end of the quarter.
We shouldnexpect Sony's LTD shipments for the same timeframe to be at least 22 million. It will be very interesting to see what it ends up being as this will somewhat set a yardstick by which we can estimate future sell-in vs sell through figures.
I can't imagine sony announcing less than 21.5 million shipped, but if shipments fall into the 21.5M to 21.8M that would imply fairly low March sell through.
