Forums - Nintendo - Angry Joe's Final Nintendo Rant! With FEELS

Nintendo's Youtube Policy is?

That is not cool, Nintendo. 322 64.02%

I stand with Nintendo. 127 25.25%

Poor Joe.. 54 10.74%

Total:503

Wow this thread is getting pretty serious!

What does Angry Joe do differently than Game Grumps, Chuggaconry, GameXplain, Cinemassacre, Cobermani, and other youtube celebrities who sometimes (but mostly) upload Nintendo content? Because they haven't been slowing down their video uploads.

Im a huge nintendo fan. but i dont opposre their youtube policies. I think they are right amount. but tbh its because i dont really care if some guy from youtube doesnt get his money beacuse of this. He never really did nintendo videos before anyway

This kind of reasoning always baffles me. He was just starting to do Nintendo videos because he recently got a Wii U. Last gen he didnt do PS3 or Wii videos either because he only had a 360 nad PC. So its nothing to do with him being a "fanboy" or "hater". And hes not just "some guy on YouTube". Anyway it doesnt matter cause no more Nintendo from him, yay, victory.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Yeah, its so sad when people dont get money from playing video games, and using someone elses created characters. Everyone loves nintendo and if it werent for nintendo fans, nintendo would probably not exist, but still that getting this mad at something small as a nintendo video. This is like the only single nintendo video i have ever seen angry joe do. I dont get why hes so mad at nintendo when he gets money from youtube playing xbox and ps4 games. I felt that joe always were more against nintendo then he was for it. Therefor i dont really care what people think about nintendo youtube policies. I think its there property and they can do whatever they want with it. What people complain about is their issue.

I understand what you're saying, but watching someone play video games and review it, is not the same as playing the video game. Therefore Nintendo did not lose anything, in fact they gain a potential customer if they like what they saw from the video.

"You can sign up individual videos instead of complete channels if you want to continue to include non-Nintendo content...this doesn't stop you from doing that in any way."

The Nintendo approved list. His subs won't get to see most of the games that Joe wants to review anyways.

Most gamecentric game bloggers/reviewers have one channel where they discuss all video games, not just Nintendo. They work hard to get as any followers to this one channel. If they suddenly have to divide their channels, it will be a huge hassle.

Once again, this policy will have no bearing on non-Nintendo videos on a channel that chooses to sign up individual videos. Joe can still freely post all the non-Nintendo content he would like to post. He would only need to sign up the Nintendo related videos and share revenue on those, while keeping all of the revenue made from other videos (save the cut Youtube and MCNs take of course).

There is no need to divide any channels, there is no need to exclude any non-Nintendo videos.

Not arguing with you, but Joe will not be able to review the Nintendo games that he wants to review.. "The Nintendo approved list"

What if somebody only wants to experience the story of a game, and therefore will not purchase the game they would otherwise purchase because they can watch it online? Does that not hurt the developer/publisher, who created said content and did not receive money? The cutscenes took people's time and efforts just as much as the gameplay. People were paid to produce said story, cutscenes, music, etc.

What Nintendo is doing is not smart.
But what Youtubers are doing are not right either. It's all about the money these days
I thought they were doing let's plays and such because they wanted to themselves, but in most cases it's actually just about the money

I want to see the person who does a 300k views video, which generated let's say $5000 in ad revenue, and then says "ah I don't even want any of that, I did it purely for the fun".

I get what you are saying about the Nintendo approved list and I don't disagree with that in particular. However, that isn't really what I was trying to explain. I was saying that you were a little off base when talking about "dividing channels" and saying "he won't be able to review none Nintendo games" and things like that. Seems we started arguing about different things at some point and everyone go confused.

If reviewing a Nintendo game on youtube show more than 3 seconds of continuous game footage and don't include the sound. That'll cover you from getting flagged in all but the most obscure and unlucky cases.

Of course you shouldn't have to. Nintendo is in the wrong here because of their offensive disregard of fair use. But people seem to thing you can't do a review without joining the Nintendo program. You can, but you have to be restrained in what you do.

Sigh, who cares? I thought he was gonna rant about what affects us gamers, I thought he was gonna rant about amiibos or something.

He really isn't about the gamers. Its the paycheck. He'd rant about textiles if it means he gets 2 million subscribers. This is something that affects him and a few other youtubers. Its almost like the 1%ers complaining about 1%er stuff.

Indeed. He comes off as a egocentric whiner. He wants our sympathy but he doesnt rant about things that affect us. Why should I care. Its not like he was making a living off of nintendo videos. If he's gonna rant about his paycheck, he should take it with Nintendo, not to his fans. "hey guys go annoy nintendo for me cuz they dont want me earning money waaah waah". His rants should not be about himself.  Anyone thinking about making a living off of nintendo videos without any profession needs to question his existence on earth. You are 20-30 something, do these people really think they will continue earning money from Nintendo videos until their 60s?

Umm that's not even what I said or meant. There's a difference doing it purely for the money and doing it for fun. Of course you wouldn't decline the money you gained while doing it just for fun.
Sometimes I feel people just doesn't read what's actually being said.

I hope I didn't offend you in any way. It was not my intention at all :)
