Has Splatoon ever left the top 10 since it's release?

And Super Mario Maker also seems to hold on it's top 10 spot right now

I believe it was barely edged out the day all the Animal Crossing preorders opened (including the game SKUs, console bundles, cards, faceplates, etc.) but other than that, no. It's kinda crazy, lol.

I know it's something that's plainly obvious but Nintendo (or the 3DS rather) has Japan by the balls in regard to the video game market. I have to wonder though, what's the difference between #2 and #17? Also I predict that MHX isn't going to budge from that spot for quite some time.
Also nice to see that MGS V is at least in the top ten in some form.

SKUs typically have different bonuses or prices. #2 is currently 5,239 yen while #17 is 6,458 yen, which is why the former is significantly higher on the charts.

Splatoon is going to have a strong week. Still at #4.

However, Mario Maker is still going down.

Mario Maker will pick up closer to release. A Lot of other games are getting boost right now which is why its slipping. Once ads start coming hard for it then it should start beasting.

Edit: Just realized I forgot to update Monster Hunter on this chart. It should be 9 instead of 8.

A new digital Super Mario Maker pre-order unit was opened on Amazon, which is why it fell out of the Top 20. It is now at #26 and #27 respectively. Apparently the digital unit is available for purchase 6 days before the physical version, which may be why it's so popular.

The reason why SMM fell might be because the Amazon.jp special version ran out if stock. Look the price of the game, there's no discount, when that happens it means sold out.

Ohhh, that makes sense. I was wondering why some units had discounts while others didn't. Thanks for letting me know!

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
