i bought my ps3 in 2013, im still playing lots of 2007 to 2012 games.
I skept also 5th gen, too many games to play too.
also when an old great game i missed appear on VC or PSN, i get it.

On PC it's easier, anyway yes, release date doesn't count if the game is good, I still have games released before 2006 in my backlog, I'm currently playing two of them, when I can I'll resume playing at least another two I suspended, and I could buy others, some already are in my wishlist.
