Forums - Nintendo - QUESTION, are you allowed to sell your download codes?

Are you allowed to sell your download codes? Cause I could get DKC: TF from the Club Nintendo awards and sell it so I can get the physical version, but I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to sell them, right?

And do note, I'm talking about online. Because obviously it wouldn't be a problem if you were selling it to your friend.

I'm not sure, but I feel like that would be difficult to arrange. How would someone know you we're telling the truth?

Exactly that is the issue. And then if I gave them the code and they used it and then didn't pay me. So that's what I am afrad of lol

I just traded that game with someone here as a matter of fact, but it's a little different in my case.

First, it was with someone on here on vgchartz, which is frankly more trust worthy than some online shop. Second, it was a trade of Club Nintendo codes, so there wasn't real tangeble money to be lost and the actual act of trading requires no exchange of personal information.

Since your point in this is to not get something physical, that won't help you.

I wouldn't dare to sell it online if I were you. Sell it to a friend in that case.

Don't give them the code until after they pay.

I've bought codes for things (XBL) online before and it's been fine. As long as the code will definitely work you should be fine.

Yeah, but how does that person know he really has a working code? That's the issue.

I thought that codes 'have no cash value' but if someone is willing to buy them, I don't really see any problems :/

If the OP has an ebay or Amazon account with a decent amount of positive feedback that would help.

Yeah, good point.

I've bought codes online before, no problems whatsoever. As long as the seller is serious I see no problem here.
If I were the seller I'd just inform the potential buyers that after payment is done no refund will be offered and that the code will be sent as soon as possible.

It only comes down to trust really. If you're serious on your part then there shouldn't be any problem

What are your prices? :)
