Sounds pretty interesting. Phil sounds like a pretty cool guy=)
And for those who want banjo in smash this is great.
At the same time it would act as advertiing for the new banjo game as well. Kind of like a win/win situation

No way. If hypothetically they were in, they be nothing alike. Look at other pairs. Rosalina+Luma and Ice Climbers. None of them (including Duck Hunt) are remotely the same. Banjo Kazooie would be by far a unique character. Only thing similar is both have a bird on their back :0

We'll alot of people want their characters in SSB, i seen many of these, but your probably talking about Direct Competitors (MS/Sony).

Though i heard in an interview Sony (or maybe just The company making the game) wanted Mario to be in PSASBR.

That said, Banjo Kazooie is one of the only non Nintendo characters that could be debatable for SSB. And if the company allows it, im sure Nintendo doesn't mind. Hell we had Snake in despite a heavy, heavy, heavy Sony character (i know thirdparty, still...)
