Forums - Gaming Discussion - Amazon US April monthly bestsellers and general Amazon based discussion

Splatoon is hard to judge, MP10 wasnt that much in the top 100 intill about a month before release then finally showed up in the top 20 towards release and despite coming late and holding on ok it managed i think 270k~ish in the US first month.

Anywayz MKX holding well

woah!! PS4 dropped like a rock(hourly)

XB1 is well above the PS4

Amazon still hasn't restocked? why aren't people jumping on those deals, they seem way better than the regular $399.99 PS4

It's going to be a tight month.

I don't think so. Other retailer charts show PS4 ahead as usual. It's just Amazon is the only anomaly since the PS4 got sold out. And i guess not too many people are realizing there's the TLoU bundle.

Speaking of.....On the the standard model main page, Amazon has now let it be known that there's another version available-

I guess they won't be getting anymore in. We'll see if TLoU bundle sales pick up now.

The problem is that Amazon only represents approximately 5% of US sales, which is why it is a useless metric for software sales. The PS4 has been ahead of the XBO for most of the month in Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, and Walmart, all of which cumulatively represent the vast majority of US sales.

If the PS4 isn't restocked by the start of May, we need to consider if it's worth having an "Amazon May" thread. I think a good solution is to keep an eye on the Big 5 (Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, Walmart, and Amazon) and document the rankings all month.

Finally the "PlayStation 4 Console with Free The Last of Us Remastered Voucher" is official now on Amazon US.

The hourly chart is all very interesting, but it's the monthly that you've got to keep watch of when it comes to predicting NPD. Not sure when that was last updated, but PS4 remains quite well ahead there. As it seems Amazon was the only retailer out of PS4s for a while I'm not sure there's much that can be read into the PS4 drop on the hourlies at this point.

Next monthly update will give us a better idea of where things sit.

Yeah hourly is interesting to see what is hot at that very moment, but as Binary says its the monthly that matters.

It took them a long time.

TLoU bundle is not picking up where the standard SKU left off. I gave my reasons why that may be happening, but now Amazon has it listed on the main page of the other model. So i don't know what's going on. Everywhere else it's still selling like usual.

The PS4 selling out really messed everything up huh?

Lol, what the hell happened to the PS4 while I was gone?

Looks like Amazon streak will finally fall this month.

All other retailers still have PS4 above XB1.
