Forums - Nintendo - Can 3DS have a 150,000 basis this year??

predict new 3DS basis

80,000 - 90,000 BOMBA 11 19.30%

100,000 - 110,000 12 21.05%

120,000 - 130,000 13 22.81%

140,000 - 150,000 14 24.56%

160,000 - 170,000 1 1.75%

180,000 - 190,000 2 3.51%

+200,000 #3DSMASTERAGE 4 7.02%

Total:57

As for now, the 3DS sales according to VGChartz after the new version are:

14 Feb: 421,122 (430,621 after the adjustment)

21 Feb: 282,829 (284,303 after the adjustment)

28 Feb: 181,276 (207,268 after the adjustment)

7 March: 172,390

14 March: 161,183

This sales are also undertrack (confirmed by NPD). (ok, seem that now the sales are adjusmnet... a moment, NO!!! Still 15,000 undertracked :P)

So, do you think that the new 3DS basis can be +/- 150,000 ???

I guess it can barely have that baseline. I mean it's been decreasing rapidly week on week even though it's under tracked so I don't think it will maintain such high sales for long.

Are you asking what the new baseline will be for the 3DS or what the baseline will be for the New 3DS?

That name can get confusing

LMAO you agree.

"The New 3DS basis for all 3DS version" any way. :P

roughly 150K is plausible.

Not enough to beat PS4 though.

PS4 will easy dropped -150,000 for much week this year, expecially in May (before the Batman Special Edition).

What are you basing this on?  Even with the undertracking, we see a fairly large gap at the end of February between the PS4 and 3DS, and that is just a couple weeks after new hardware.  Considering the PS4 had BF Hardline, FF Type 0, Bloodborne, and a bunch of other releases, I doubt the 3DS was closing the gap in March.  April and May look pretty dire in terms of releases for the 3DS.  Maybe the direct will have something, but it probably won't be a big system seller.  The PS4 has MKX and The Witcher 3, as well as a good number of smaller releases.

In terms of sales charts we saw the PS4 outsell the 3DS in March in Japan.  In the UK the 3DS titles that showed up/got boosted for the New 3DS launch have drifted down the charts over the month.  The highest is at number 30 for the most recent week.  In comparison there are 12 PS4 titles above it.

So, why exactly should the 3DS be able to hold at 150k, but the PS4 should easily drop below it?

Japan tends to be the 3DS' best selling region and that region is starting to base line below 40k/week ... so I'm gonna say no.

March should still be a healthy bump but after a while the New 3DS revision bump will start to wear off as you cross off the N3DS early adopters who were buying their 2nd/3rd 3DS to replace their old model.

For the PS4 part "PS4 will easy dropped -150,000 for much week this year, expecially in May (before the Batman Special Edition)."

For the 3DS, if you didn't think it could then why make this thread?

I don't know what you're confused on.
