Those Digimon screenshots.....
Alot of pokemon fans probably jealous of those graphics, and wishing they had a console version of pokemon atm.

"PS: The question is... the new dragon quest maingame and ni no kuni 2... coming for PS4 ?Is that true or not ? What do you think ?"

Ni no kuni 2... ontop of all the other rpgs the ps4 is already getting....
PS2 days are back.

Oh Man, Ni No Kuni 2 is my wish. I hope sooo. The PS2 Days < 3 Japan coming back.

Another new jrpg announced. Dragon Quest Builders (Minecraft meets DQ) is coming this winter in  japan for PS4,PS3/Vita.

Why are you ignoring every jrpg that is not on the PS4? If you want to make a general thread about jrpgs please do it right.

Games you forgot:

- Yo-kai Watch 1 (West, 2015-2016)
- Yo-kai Watch 3 (Japan, 2016)
- Dragon Quest VII & VIII remakes on 3DS (will be localized to the West)
- Fire Emblem Fates (2015-2016)
- Xenoblade Chronicles X (2015)
- SMT X FE (2015-2016)
- Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam (2016)
- Pokémon (surely a game will be announced for 2016)

And I'm sure I'm forgetting some titles here.

The age of the ps1 and ps2 is def upon us if this keep on going!
Man how sony and japanese developers turned around this gen!

both Nintendo and Sony really need to push their targeted audience in Japan first to buy home consoles more than handheld. I know the gamers there are more 'on the rush' or get-go and wanted to play on the train/bus and anywhere they want. but home console experience, they need to capture that audience back again. once they've got that audience, japanese developers can really put a lot of games to the home consoles.

i really hope it would happen. but JRPGs to PS4 is a good start. Hopefully Wii U would also get its fairshare of JRPGs. Wii has a ton of JRPGs but no sequels aren't coming to Wii U that I know of, except XCX.

It will be interesting to see I guess. If this doesn't do it then it's over for the Japanese console industry though.

Even though Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are big too, they only sell to basically the same 3-4 million RPG fans there too.

The main problem I see is that Japan is a portable centric country. They prefer portables. The PS2 only had to compete with portable games that looked like this:

The NX or whatever Nintendo's next portable is will probably be able to produce graphics that look like this:

Most Japanese may just say "that's good enough".  The GBA couldn't really produce expansive, 3D graphics, as such it was limited in the genres it could bring out. But today a portable device can be quite powerful and produce 2D or fairly decent 3D graphics too.

The fact that Nintendo games have been coming out and have been great for the last 30 years kind of answers this entire question lol

Why don't you read the title and OP, he says console and he's talking about JRPG so.....no.
