As for my favorite fighting game of all time, that would be Capcom vs SNK 2, and the King of Fighters series.

I like fighting games a lot, because I like the constant mindgames and seeing how the opponent things in so many instances over the course of a round.

The Cap vs SNK games were so great, as were the KoF games... : ) The different systems in CvsSNK were really awesome and made for cool different ways to play, from the standard 3 bars to the rage bar of Samurai Showdown. And the KoF games had so many great and interesting characters. : D But the bosses were so OP! >.<

Smash is very addicting for me and my friends. and I've voted for Smash.

my other top choices are - Street Fighter and Tekken still holds great memories for me.
Street Fighter Ex Plus that 3D Street Fighter game which they can't release due to Akira licenses like Skullomania, Garuda, and other fighters. that is epic. try that game and you'll love it.

Tekken 3 hands down have introduced those combo moves to its finest. fighting games are also good arcade games like the X-Men v Capcom 99-hit air combo. those were the days. i think fighting games have past peak their golden era. but i still love the previous versions rather than the recent ones.

Guilty Gear Xrd for me.

-Great roster of characters, not to big but not to small

-Every character has a vastly different play style and there is no such thing as clones in this game

-Enough in-depth mechanics for the hardcore fighting game fans yet very accesible for newcomers as well

-Awesome Character Designs

-The Stages are also really well done and unique

-The music and the overall heavy metal/rock mood/tone of the game is amazing, (not to mention it fits the character and the world very well)

-And it did something very unique, by making 3D models that look 2D, taking the advantages of 3D while keeping the original art intact

Super Smash Bros. its not just a normal fighting game. its not about mastering combos. you need to perfectly execute attacks and strategies in order to find a way to win. the characters arent from a single series, but from every fan loved nintendo franchise. its so crazy and can either be a ballistic party game or the most precise fighting game ever depending on the play style.

I know :), My favorites Fighthing Games are: 1.Super Smash Bros, 2. Tenkaichi Games  3. Street Fighter(Hate DLC) 4.Mortal kombat

Tekken is the best, i dont like 2D fighetrs these days.

The fact that tekken is the only 3D fighting game left is speaking for itsself. DoA only survived dueto other qualities and soul calibur because of weapons. I guess virtua fighter is dead now since we havent heard anything from sega.

yeah pretty much all of the rest are 2D fighting games who are easier to programm and less complex designing characters for.

My online systems: Mac M4 Apple sillicon+16 GB, PC Vega 56+Amd Ryzen+32GB DDR4, Xbox Series X, PS4 Pro, Switch Lite, Playstation Vita TV, PS3, PSP

My retro systems: Wii U, DSi, Xbox, PS2, Dreamcast, N64, PS1, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo AES, SNES, Evercade

Soul Calibur and Dead Or Alive. I don't do 2D anymore.

Street Fighter, because I really, really like it.

Killer Instinct.

Ill give more info later, but to leave it short, the characters in the game are simply amazing. Its about mind games and footsies. Each character is vastly different and its pretty well balanced. never played a better fighting game and with new characters releasing regularly it is constantly evolving

PS:   I dont consider Smash Bros a fighting game.  Its a brawler

I don't play the, all so I can only speak of the ones I do play.

Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat, Eternal Champions, Ranma 1/2, World Heroes, Samurai Shodown, Tekken, Toshinden, Virtua Fighter, Sould Calibur, Marvel vs, Clay Fighter, Evil Zone, TMNT Tourna, ent Fighters, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, Dead or Alive, Smash Bros. Can't rhink of any more.

Of the ones I've experienced, Street Fighter is the king of the hill.  Guess I just like its rhythm and balance.

Yeah KOF's character design is one of the main reasons I got into the series. Rock Howard ftw! (Though he didn't technically originate from the KOF series.) Sadly I think SF4 is for the most part pretty weak in the character design department. The different modes in CVS really made things interesting, as it appealed to many different gamestyle preferences (parrying for example) and could also make a character better or worse depending on the mode you chose. Really wish we'll see CVS3 some day.

Yeah, there were so many characters I liked! Iori, Kasumi, Vanessa, King, Yamazaki, K9999, there`s so many cool characters! x ) Terry was my favorite, but I think CvsSNK cemented that with Terry`s voice in that game. It sounded so cool and funny with "Powa Wave!" and "Are you okay? BUSTER WOLF!" I really like how they changed Athena`s costumes in every game : )

I liked the goofy feeling style of SF4, but for some reason I couldn`t get into it. I guess I like sprites more...
