Forums - Gaming - Thank Miyamoto for Super Stable 3D

In a recent interview with TIME magazine, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed that the device was already in its final stages of prototyping when none other than Shigeru Miyamoto insisted that the additional feature be included. Despite the hardware engineers' belief that the handheld was about to go into production, Mr.Miyamoto had seen the upgraded technology in action just one week earlier, and wondered why it wasn't being used in their new product.

This is what sold me on the New 3DS,thanks Mr.Miyamoto! What made you buy the New 3DS?

my old 3ds broke.
but i only buy a new because of superstable 3d, if not i would buy a used old 3ds.

Super stable 3D is a smart move. Without it, it would be super similar to the original 3DS and I doubt it would have sold as well as it did.

I don't think that's true at all. The nub and extra shoulder buttons are what sold it the most. Stable 3D was a perk.

I thank Miyamoto for more than this, but thanks is almost always owed to this man. B^ ) Miyamoto`s just an amazing guy and has contributed so much to the industry.

It was a combination of everything that made me buy the New 3DS. The improved design, additional buttons, the c-stick, super stable 3D, exclusives, faster OS, amiibo support, etc. I'd say the best feature is the exclusives, though. Even though only Xenoblade 3D has been announced, I think that alone will make me glad I bought the system.

Possibly... but having stable 3D is what got the n3DS attention. Sure, I'd probably find the C-stick and ZRZL buttons more useful, but it's not a true selling point. Most 3DS games can't even utilize the extra buttons. If you want to sell an upgraded handheld to the masses, you'll need more than  buttons as a main selling point..

Yeah, but all the games that marketed the N3DS and and launched with it did and too. I think it would have sold roughly just as much without the 3D upgrade.

I bought it because it is essentially going to be the Wii handheld with a butt load of ports coming in I think.
