So if you are lumping the Wii series together (sports, play, fit and chess) then only two new IPs so far... but so what.

How many new Ips were on Gamecube? I believe Pikmin was the only one since Animal Crossing was originally Animal Forest in Japan.

So the Wii has actually passed the total new IPs from last generation, so why complain?

Honestly, Nintendo has not been pushing out new series as quickly as they did with the Gamecube and that is (probably) one of the main reasons the Wii is selling so well. Within a couple of months every major series from the Gamecube will have seen a sequel on the Wii; this means that we will probably have a 12 to 18 month period following that were Nintendo is more focused on their midsized franchises, bringing back old series, and inventing new properties.

well brawl can you get a list of the new ip's gamecube launched.
Also just keep updating your opening posts so that people can see if something changed. That helps instead of reading all the posts.

We don't know Nintendo's Holiday 2008 line-up or their plans for 2009, 2010 and 2011. There's ample time for them to release more original IPs.

I'm happy to get my sequels first.. imagine waiting longer for Galaxy, Brawls, Zelda, Mario Kart, etc while they just slowly release new IPs before they release those you've been dying to play for the past few years..

do people think Wii Sports 2 or Wii Play 2 to actually sell big #'s? and it does seem like a lot of sequels for a company that is supposed to be rocking the world with innovation. wii sports woohoo
