Most fighting games don't work well on the Wii. They require actions too quick for waggle movements. This has been proven by Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core and the fact that Brawl isn't using motion. Fighting games will always require the precision of button presses to work best.
The Wii is itching for good FPSes. What I find funny is with all of these ports going around, no one is porting games like Half-Life 2.
I think a good boxing game is needed. Hopefully EA pulls one out of the park with Facebreaker.
What's happening is there's just little innovation with the Wii-mote right now. Some developers are just tacking unnecessary motions on for the hell of it. Not everything needs to be motion based, and if your game has no competent way to use the Wii-mote then you shouldn't be making it for the Wii.

Pikmin 3: command your pikmin with the pointer
Nintendogs Wii
Mario Party 9
Pokemon Snap: taking pics with the Wii mote would be great
Yoshi touch and go
Pilot Wings
Star Fox 64: that game screams for a Wii-make or Wii-sequel. It's perfectly suited for the Wii controlls
