I theorized that Xbox will be the first console to make the jump to become a streaming service only. Wouldn't that make sense?

I like the way you think.

We'd start hearing all about the Samsung eco system though!! 😜

Just had the same Idea

How about a Sega Xbox?

Or a Neo Geo Box?

A NEC Xbox Engine perhaps?

Do the math!

I find it hard to believe that Microsoft would have bought the Gears of War IP or be hiring as many people as they are for the Xbox if they were looking at selling it.

The most logical thing they could do is wean themselves out of the hardware aspect which to me seems like its already occurring. The windows 10 integration and subtle hints about PC gaming are indicators. I think they'll eventually ditch the box and unite PC with TV while retaining the games.

Microsoft may eventually split the Xbox brand name and the Xbox product line and try to sell the latter, but who would want to buy that? Unless MS is willing to toss in the name and at least one or two of the key exclusives (Halo and/or Gears), no one will be interested. But I think, for now, MS will keep the Xbox brand as their gaming brand even if they exit hardware.

The issues is a company that want to buy the Xbox... that is the big point.

I doubt they'll sell it.

so nobody wants an iBox 720? Tsk tsk.
