My guess is that he expected to be appointed to the board, and was snubbed for the 4 above, so he lashed out and is disbanding and going independant.

Hopefully it's true. Then I can ignore Konami completely (well outside PES).
Kojima definitely needs to try something new.

I guess the guy wants to stop making MGS games, and this is the only way to do so. Hasn't Kojima wanted to move on since 3 or 4? Poor guy likely wants to do other things.

Konami has scaled back on their game output for a while now, so I wouldn't be surprised if their movie division takes a hit too.

brilliant.

OT

The guy is 51.. he was bound to start slowing down soon.

Miyamoto is 62, the years haven't slowed him down, look what he made in the last 10 years lol. Kojima is probably just tired of doing MGS.

Doesn't surprise me, this was the only way he was was going to be able to stop making MGS games.

I will believe it when I see it

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Let's remember before we predict who this man will work for next is that the rumors came from Konami removing Kojima Productions studio from their websites and social media accounts. Maybe the whole studio will break off from Konami, or maybe they're just changing the logo.

.- -... -.-. -..

If he didn't finish the story content this gonna be bigger disaster than Metroid: Other M. Damn you game industry, that was the last AAA game I was hyped for.

Didn't Kojima recently suggest that MGS V would be the last MGS game? So maybe he wanted to move on to new IP's and Konami wasn't happy about that, so Kojima and his team left Konami?

Lol all of KojiPro leaving, good joke. If Kojima left however KojiPro would likely be named KCEJ like they were back making MGS1. No need for the KojiPro logo then.
