Forums - Sony - Bloodborne Review Thread - MetaCritic 93% ~ GameRankings 91.47%

Just FYI but the lead times are not nearly as bad later in the game. Central and Old Yarnem are by far the 2 worst by about 10 seconds. For instance the Lecture building takes less than 10 second and the 2 areas it lead to take 25 to 30 seconds which is very tolerable especially after playing through the early game load times.

The reason the load times get better is because they load in between zones(major zones. Creating smaller reins that need to be loaded)

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Meta 92, will, need some more 95+ scores to go up again.

yeah, i dont know why but i have a feeling that it will be a 93 in the end.

Finally playing it, got through two bosses today....and naturally I love it, but I do have some gripes. Minor ones, but definitely gripes. Namely, I don't like how some enemies will chase you and then do this ten hit combo that instakills you, even when you're being cautious and trying to throw them off. I also don't like how some bosses do this (Father Ghirasam or whatever his name was isn't that hard, but he'd run at me and start slashing, eventually knocking me into a corner I couldn't escape, dodge roll out of, of heal from, and put the camera right where I couldn't see, resulting in me dying.) I also don't like how the giant wolves just outside of the first boss are actually harder than the first boss. seriously, even after beating the boss and using all my souls to level up, I tried that only to get owned again. Forget that.

Great game, though. Does have some tweaks I Feel it needs to make it more fair (and keep in mind, fair and easy are not the same things, I love the challenge, but sometimes the game is cheap)

What you have to remember is that some of the things are intentional.  The two wolves just before the first boss you're not really meant to beat (unless you're really good).  The designers know that your only real option is to run through them which then puts you in a direct fight before the boss with a load of crows and a big dude, whilst worrying that the two wolves might follow.  Its the From Software way, always keeping you nervous.

oh...I beat those wolves like five times, blood farming.  Requires a lot of work, blood vials, and patience, but I Can do it.  The boss was way easier.  I do love the game, but that just seemed unfair.

Took me forever to learn the difference between two handed and one handed melee combat.  for like four hours I was like "WHY CAN;T I USE MY GUN?!" not realizing that I had my axe set to two-handed.  Lots of little things like that keep me smiling every time I figure it out.

We've all been there! :D

It's even harder to play for me because It's not easy to get out of the Souls way of playing if that's what you're accustomed to from playing a lot of the previous games.

I could finish Dark Souls with my eyes closed but finding this harder being on the offensive all the time.  However, have beaten the first two bosses and think I'm close to the next one (am in Old Yarnham, going down a hill to some cathedral so I think I'm getting close!

I decided to put it down for the day right after beating the second boss, because I was starting to get frustrated and kick my desk...and I've been sick for two days so I don't want to subconsciously associate Dark Souls with this fever/migraine I have.  I got the game monday, but I've been sick since Sunday.
