What you have to remember is that some of the things are intentional.  The two wolves just before the first boss your not really meant to beat (unless your really good).  The designers know that your only real option is to run through them which then puts you in a direct fight before the boss with a load of crows and a big dude, whilst worrying that the two wolves might follow.  Its the From Software way, always keeping you nervous.

oh...I beat those wolves like five times, blood farming.  Requires a lot of work, blood vials, and patience, but I Can do it.  The boss was way easier.  I do love the game, but that just seemed unfair.

Took me forever to learn the difference between two handed and one handed melee combat.  for like four hours I was like "WHY CAN;T I USE MY GUN?!" not realizing that I had my axe set to two-handed.  Lots of little things like that keep me smiling every time I figure it out.

We've all been there! :D

It's even harder to play for me because It's not easy to get out of the Souls way of playing if that's what you're accustomed to from playing a lot of the previous games.

I could finish Dark Souls with my eyes closed but finding this harder being on the offensive all the time.  However, have beaten the first two bosses and think I'm close to the next one (am in Old Yarnham, going down a hill to some cathedral so I think I'm getting close!
