Before the X-box came out there was a ton of people who hated microsoft. The microsoft hate umbrulla includes X-box. So that combined with your normal amount of console hate, and intial crappy customer survice, and the other reasons listed above is why microsoft has a "special place in everyones heart."

I do think XB360 gets ripped all the time but nobody wants to say anything bad about the Wii. Somewhat unfair, but understandable - the fail rate for Wii is smaller.

Same goes for PS3 - it also has problems reading discs. Once again fail rate is small.
But if the problem persists, then we can rip the console.

And the ps2 had problems with not reading disks does that mean it should get a bad rep no.....

Xbox gets all the bad press because they come out and say um yeah we heard things are breaking but your loss we are not fixing them.

Also Nintendo came right out and said um so we kindda got a problem and set up a plan to get everyone happy.

This just sounds like your trying to bring the Wii down, people like nintendo because when something goes wrong they fix it so they get good PR even when something goes wrong....

I'm not sure how comparing two defects within the next gen system would 'classify' me as "trying to bring the Wii down".

But somehow I don't think fixing the problem is as good as NOT having a problem in the first place. No?

It sounds that way because you are comparing a company that won't help its customers to one that first day said ok we have a problem....

How is nintendo suppose to help how dusty your house is or if you smoke in your house?

And of course no problem is better then a problem fixed but nothing you were comparing had no problem....

So therefore a problem fixed is better then a problem ignored 

Yes, its exactly the same having one console that breaks down completely and becomes a brick which is guessed sometimes at ~30% vs another console who has trouble with just one game out of hundreds and has a much lower %.

 but the result is the same, you will have to send it back for repair as soon as possible. Unless you don't plan to play SSBB you just bought or any of the future DL discs.

You can always spin the PRs, But it's unfair to be overly critical when Microsoft console has a problem and then show a completely different attitude when Nintendo console does.

That's all I'm saying.
