It's been a long time coming, so some backlash was expecting as many didn't want to think Nintendo would do work for mobile platforms.

Yeah, about a year ago, or even in more recent times, one would be forgiven to think that Nintendo were not conceding anything related to smart devices and mobile games.

Basically; the nerds (people like us) were saying "no, no and no" and the business world was saying "yes, yes and yes", Nintendo seems to have woken up and realized that they are in this to make money, not only pursue their own creative interests, this is a fact that most developers and publishers in the world have had to deal with for a long time. The more I think about it, the more happy I am about the whole thing, an added bonus could be that Nintendo helps lift the quality of mobile gaming and perhaps even helps battle some of the more unsavory business practices this arena is currently hosting.

We'll see, I guess.

I love Nintendo, and I think this is great news. In fact, it makes a Nintendo themed Android phone more appealing. Also, I can Screen Mirror my phone to my 60" TV. Just imagine Nintendo mobile games on the home theater big screen.

It seems that what increased that much is Nintendo's stock ADR.

Here is the price of Nintendo's stock at the Tokyo Stock Exchange: http://quote.tse.or.jp/tse_n/quote.cgi?F=listing%2FEDetail1&MKTN=T&QCODE=7974

It only shows a 1.4% increase.

Why not just connect a WiiU to your TV?

People, this is awesome news. Don't worry about the quality of the games here, Nintendo will always be the ones in charge of their IP. The quality will be there. This is too good for my eyes to see. Nintendo is changing to fit the times! I can't believe it.

I think that will be effected tomorrow. Could be wrong.  Not sure how listing in the Tokyo stock exchange works.

This is what I like.  Give those casuals what helped made the gaming market.

People are upset because at the end of the day only execustives and people that heavily invested in nintendo will ever profit from this.

From the side of the consumer you now have all the games and effort split between 3 platforms, bear in mind that nintendo is barely able to support 2 platforms. This will lead in a decreased amount of games for consoles, especially since mobile games are cheaper to make and will make more money.

So for example instead of making console pokemon games genius sonority will instead make pokemon shuffle 2.

If you like high quality games this isnt good new at all and unless they announce soon that they massively upsized their studios(and i am talking about a real huge number) or bought a big video game company like Capcom or Square Enix i dont see a good future for their upcomming console effort and expect their next console to have worse droughts than the wii u.

In short if you are a investor its time to pop up the champagne bottle, if you like games there is reason to be pessimistic.

If you have more money, you buy more studios, and you make more games for all the systems you have. And the mobile thing is a colaboration with another company, I don´t think all the work is on Nintendo.

And things like Pokemon Shuffle don´t seem very hard and expensive to do.

Thats why i said unless nintendo does this. While i see reason that nintendo wont do it since nintendo never did a aggressive buyout and isnt really keen on buying other studios in general, there still a slim chance that they realize that they arent big enough to keep on going like this.

The problem with colaborations is that you need someone who wants to do them first. and if your console isnt really rolling in sales owning the majority of the market most 3rd party developers will prefer to make multiplats instead.

And if genius sonority didnt work on a super secret then pokemon shuffle took several months even with base of the game already donedue to pokemon trozei.

Hype, Starpower and marketing is a bitch, with all that you just need to pitch two letters, and your stocks rises and you became the focus of the industry.
