Forums - Sales Discussion - DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE already shipped 1.5 million units worldwide!

March 17, 2015

BANDAI NAMCO Games is proud to announce that its latest smashing hit launched in February has already shipped more than 1,5M units all around the world!

Going strong in three major regions; EMEA, Japan and Americas, DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE has accomplished its main purpose: please as much fans as possible!

When asked about this success, Masayuki HIRANO (Game Producer at BANDAI NAMCO Games) says: “I would like to thank everyone for their support on this new challenge. We decided to take a risk and create a completely new concept to entertain our fans and DRAGON BALL lovers and we are quite proud of the successful result! On a more personal note, I feel honoured to create a game around a licence as massive as DRAGON BALL!

On behalf of BANDAI NAMCO Games: thanks for your amazing support! We will continue working and reaching new heights!”

The game is still available at your favourite retailer and on the PlayStation®Network, Xbox Market Place and STEAM® along with the season pass! The first DLC pack will be available starting 17/03 on STEAM® and Xbox Market Place and on 18/03 for PlayStation®Network!

With VGC having very incomplete charts for weeks after its western launch on Feb. 24, it is hard to claim undertracking, but the only data we have for the US first week sales, along with NPD February numbers placing this game on the #7 spot seem to indicate that undertracking has taken place.

Regardless of that, this can be considered a great success for that game, and I am glad it managed to sell well, even though I have no interest in the series.

Lol WTF O_O
How is this one so damn successful compared to recent entries

its very good, but the naruto ultimate ninja storm games are the better anime-fighting-games.
i love dbz and naruto, but the dbz games are not so good. (only the budokai-games are awesome)

i'm glad it did well hopefully we'll see a sequel which improves on this one.

This game sold on word of mouth alone, and I love it. It's definitely a big step above the games that have been coming out in the past few years. I'd even go as far as to say it's up there with Budokai 3. Bandai Namco better let Dimps do all their DBZ games from now on.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Very impressive, indeed.

Not the best DB game but the best one in the last couple of years. Better than all of the previous gen games at least. (Don't count remakes)

Hopefully they'll use the feedback for a better sequel instead of a new game as they did a lot in recent years.

Maybe that's why the servers were/are so broken for this game because they didn't expect so many people to buy it.

Succes!
