Ive been wondering cause thats the main reason i come on this site. And it always seems to have something interesting to read. Weather its dumb fanboy fights or crazy predictions.

But do you think VGC would be as popular if it had monthly updates in number instead of weekly?

No not as popular, It's too long of a spam with no info relating to the core of the site. Plus with it being monthly you could just get the big information somewhere else, like NPD.

Back when American only got updated once a month, I only came on here once a month.

I come here mainly to see the weekly updates for the US/Others figures, so I would have to go with "it wouldn't be as popular if it just stuck with the Monthly figures".

I wouldn't hang around here if there weren't.. sure there are the occasional interesting threads/discussion, but there wouldn't be much incentive to come here if it weren't for ioi's weekly numbers, and the various breakdowns given by TheSource and other mods

The site popularity would defiantly drop off. I for one would be turned off.

Also, I think that different numbers on different days of the week helps out a lot. If it was only one day, then I know I probably wouldn't visit as often... you have hardware numbers for the different regions, and software numbers for the different regions, etc... Those 6 items are generally spread over several days... not always on the same date and time, so it just becomes addictive to keep checking for new numbers in some area.

the popularity would def. fall off - I joined because of it and I continue staying here so I can see those #'s. It gets addictive actually
