I think it seems like it had a lot of exclusives now because we live in a time where 90% of 3rd party games are multiplat.

During the 6th gen that wasn't the case so despite XBOX having a lotof exclusives, the number was only a fraction of what PS2 had.

yeah I reckon they should, I mean it's not stopping Sony from keeping From busy from making a multiplat games, I don't see why Microsoft couldn't do the same and secure their own exclusive from them.

Had no idea Otogi was from the same devs. It had stunning graphics for its time. Otogi 2 was probably the best looking hack n slash game back then.

Microsoft already tried to appeal to that market and it wasn't worthwhile. Nintendo and Sony have you covered.

It was though, it helped other markets to grow aswell like Europe.

Some of the exclusive Japanese games sold decent numbers on 360, but I don't think they moved a significant amount of hardware. I'd argue MS could have invested in western games that could have done a better job at moving hardware.

Now that Japanese console gaming is becoming less relevant, investing in exclusive Japanese software simply isn't worthwhile for MS. They're gonna do a few, but not many.

If anything MS needs to do more at encouraging Japanese developers to port their games to X1 as well. That's cheaper, less risky, and adds more variety to the X1 library.
