Forums - Gaming - When do you think the Wii U's successor will release?

What year do you think Wii U's successor will launch?

2017 81 52.26%

2018 62 40.00%

2019+ 12 7.74%

Total:155

Anywhere from 5 to 6 years from when Wii U came out seems the most likely time for when Nintendo's next home console could release, mainly because that's how long Nintendo normally has between releases.

I voted 2018 because the longer time processor and memory has to come down in price the cheaper and more reliable it's production becomes the more suited to going into a console it is, that's what works for Nintendo and any platform holder.

Nov 2017.

I am thinking other thing. The industry isnt big enough to support three big players anymore in the home console arena. Next gen will be really interesting.

I highly disagree, the industry is bigger than ever.

That would be a pretty bad decision, even if its Nintendo Fusion. I think the Next Nintendo HH wont release intill Spring 2017, but the earliest i expect it would be in a year from now, but even thats kinda early.

We'll see soon enough

I think it'll be a good desision specifically because it's part of a unified platform. I see the handheld releasing Spring/Summer of next year and being announced at E3 this year, with the console releasing in the Winter and being announced at or around E3 next year.

Releasing next handheld year after New 3DS and releasing home console later on same year!?

Not a chance, maybe we can see next handheld on Q4 2016 but no way we can see next home console same year, they need more time for preparing new console and games, especially because now they need to have very good launch with big games.

2018 seems the most likely year.

If you count ios and android gamers as gamers then yeah. You are right. Industry is bigger.

Sometime in 2017. Also depends on when the QoL thing releases. They might want to make them compatible with each other in some way.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

I think that there's a space for everybody that has something different and unique. Nintendo's IPs are enough to be their own entity like always.
