not satisfied...? stop complaining and make them yourself, or is complaining the only your good at?

If you don't like it, make it yourself?
If you pay money for a product, you're entitled to have and express your expectations from it.
I don't have to grow a field of melons just because the ones I bought from the supermarket were below satisfaction.

Anyway, greatness awaits. And that's why I'm waiting before buying a current gen console.

but if you expect to get a new ferrari for the price of an old toyota then there is a problem. a lot of people simply want to much for the amount they're willing to pay for. they would realize that soon enough once they would work on those products themselves.

This has nothing to do with the PS4 itself. That is the consequence, not the cause.

The cause was that the technology advanced too fast and the market became cutthroat from one gen to the next. Nintendo gets the hate, but were right. The pace at wich they went is the pace at wich the market would have survived and adapted. Nowadays we got few publishers as a result. I wont say who i blame for the state of things because it will sound like i'm hating when its my fair analisys.

In this envyronment reviews from sites like gamespot became a middleman consequence. If they really cared, they would drop review scores.

Agreed.

I don't particually care for review scores, and we are seeing a shift to other kinds of reviews that dont't use this somewhat arbitrary system anymore. It undermines the subjective experience that is written by th reviewer, and wraps it under the umbrella of a digit at the bottom of the page. Though can you elaborate more on what you meant by that statement?

It means that because of the cutthroat financial envyronment having good scores became essential to maximise sales and achieve profitability. This in turn empowered the media review outlets and publishers to try and influence them as a result in an effort to control the sucess of the product. Regardless, if the outlets dropped review scores, there wouldnt he a subjective scale upon wich to influence the consumer on what to buy and for example a 7/10 game could still achieve financial sucess like they would during the PSone and two era. This would lead to less pressure from the publisher and a better service to the consumers from the media outlets.

Alas, the world we are in is where such outlets give bad scores to gain atention because they are of vital importance. The outlets have too much power and abuse it. The publishers therefore pressure or blacklist outlets. This is all a consequence of the state the market was pushed onto.

If anyone is still reading this, take my point into consideration:
Look at any website's top 25 list for last console generation and tell me how many of those games were released in the first 2 years compared to the rest of its lifespan.

I'm enjoying this generation a lot. I'm a Nintendo+PC gamer, and with PC+WiiU+3DS, I've built a very nice catalogue of games. +50 different games in 2 years. And there has been a lot of great games: Bayo2,MK8, Smash, 3DWorld, Tropical Freeze, Dragon Age, Evil Within, Alien Isolation... and a great bunch of indie games (Shovel Knight is a blast to play). There are a lot of great games this generation. The problem was the dissapointments. We all expected Destiny and Watch Dogs to be wonderful games, and I think they overpromised and, in the end, they underdelivered.

i have no problem with this since there was way but WAY to many PS3 exclusives that i wanted to play and this last year has given me some time to go through some of them, ive also played some PS4 games as well (Shadow of Mordor is awesome, and Infamous SS was good) but i will admit that the most fun ive had with PS4 games so far has been with cross gen PS exclusives like Guilty Gear Xrd and The Last of Us Remastered, but thats about to change in three weeks with Bloodborne.

Considering delays were much more frequent last generation vs. this generation, I don't understand why he wasted so much time on delayed games.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

It's the beginning of the new generation guys. Only 2-3 years in. We've got another 2-3 to go. A lot happens in those 2-3 years. With games becoming more intricate to develop, they will in turn take more time to develop. We can't rush good games no matter how much we complain.

As for the games that are already out, I believe Nintendo has shown the most promise as far as 8th generation gaming is going. But, PS4 is getting games like Final Fantasy VX, Kingdom Hearts III, Dragon Quest Heroes, etc. and those games usually generate a lot of buzz and sales. We just haven't gotten our full first cycle of games yet. Nintendo is almost done with their main 4 games, then after that it'll be a ride. PS4 and Xbone still have great exclusives that haven't come out yet. We're just becoming impatient and to be honest, we are lacking in taste. As consumers, we are highly predictable and when things don't go our way, we have a fit and complain. No biggie, that's us. If you disagree, you disagree. Just don't act like it's that deep.

Gamers sent a message loud and clear that they're willing to buy a console without great games, and pay money for uprezzed versions of old games. The market gets what the market wants.

I'd argue that the real problem is pre-ordering, which sends the message that gamers are willing to pay for something that isn't even finished yet. Devs can get lazy and release content that should have been included down the line via DLC, and releasing broken games because their pre-orders tell them that they will sell well anyway.

"Oh don't worry, we'll fix all of those glitches and add in a satisfying ending in 6 months in our 5 GB patch! Only 19.99."

FFS, it's not like stores are always short on stock on launch day in this day and age. And I mean who the fack cares that you get a new special edition hat for your character if you pre-order? And then after someone gets burnt once by pre-ordering from a certain company, they pre-order the next game and get fucked again. I only advocate pre-ordering when: you are importing a game, the game is in short supply (see: Atlus), you want a collectors edition, or you know damn well the product will be whole and working on arrival (see: Nintendo). Maybe there would be "great console games" if they weren't half baked on release.
