Forums - Sales - The Order digital download charts only at #4 on the US PSN? Failure?

Amazon charts are used because they sell physical copies which sometimes coincide with total physical representations and relationships.

Xenoverse only sold 150k on ps4, but it's higher on the download chart...so if we were to take your credible analysis on the subject, Order should be less than 150k...unless Order sold more physical for some reason, which is where your entire premise goes in a tailspin. If you are willing to admit that Order sold at least as much or more than DBZ, then you're willing to admit there is no basis in your theory.

Pre-order numbers were within 250k just for US up to release. Europe tends to mirror US in copies sold but in general sells a little bit more. The numbers are likely very accurate.

To start, it is fine that we disagree. That's why I posed a question: I think one way, naybe some will think like me, others will not.

I'm just trying to start a civil discussion.

We disagree on one thing: you believe VGC numbers are correct, I do not. I think that preorders are completely untrustworthy. You think retail sales are tracked well, I think that VGC overestimated TO's sales. You think that The Order has much lower digital attach rate than other games, I simply think it sold poorly.

More poorly than Xenoverse?

I'm sure it had a big budget, but probably not an unusually large budget.

How expensive is it to make a tech demo? If Ryse is profitable than surely The Order will be more profitable.

Yeah, the fact that it's short and only has one mode may be its saving grace here.

Yes. It charted below it digitally, I think it did in retail as well.

Of course, NPD will be unreliable because DB has six million versions, so it will be ahead anyway without giving a clue on PS4 sales...

I the order is a game that more people are going to want to have the ability to resell so it's digital to physical sales ratio will be different from other games.
People who don't mind dlc in games are going to have much less problem getting a game digitally since they already will be accepting not selling or trading the dlc

Also, we just had a report claiming Evolve sold 300K in the US (across 3 platforms). And digitally it is still ahead of The Order.
If we say that PS4 sold 150K (seems consoles are evenly split, disregard PC), and consider similar attach rates for both, The Order probably sold less than 150K in the US in February.

I appreciate your attempt at analysis, but you'll learn (or not) soon enough that a superficial assessment like this is only going to result in failure.

You brought up amazon as well as a justification for comparing relationships of sales, which had order above xenoverse for many weeks, yet can't understand that order might have done better than dbz.

Contrary to the others game, The order had roughly only one week on February.

The game released 20th of February, this year the last week of February was 28th.

Dragon Ball released on Feb. 24.

I wonder if this game will make its money back. Just looking at it, you can tell it had a huge budget.

It was 5 years in development even for a smaller team like RaD thats expensive over that much time.

So this is why you said somewhere that you expect it to be overtracked in the USA here...Aha...
