Forums - Sales - February 2015 NPD Thread! 3DS: 395k, PS4: 342k, XBO: 276k, WiiU: 96k

I have a question please.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse has sold over 300k copies according to NPD yet Vgchartz say it only sold 146k copies.

Why is there such an enormous gap between the two?

Probably poor tracking by VCG. It's not unsual for these kinds of games. They seem harder to track than front-loaded titles.

Also, VGC has Super Smash Bros. for Wii U overtracked right?

it was at 2.8 million when they had 3.49 million

so 100k at most imo.

Bets:

(Won)Bet with TechoHobbit: He(Techno) says 10 million by January 1,2014 I say 9 million by then. Winner gets 2 weeks of sig control.

(Lost)Bet with kinisking: I say Ps4 will win April NPD while he says Xbox One will win it; winner gets 1 week of avatar control.

Because VGC isn't accurate.

I'm aware of the sites inaccuracy but I thought they were still supposed to be somewhat accurate (90%) as opposed to being completely and utterly wrong.

Probably by about 50-100K.

They said it surpassed 1.5M, so that's anywhere between 1.5-1.6M

So not that bad then.

By the way,it's undertracked somewhere else...In Europe,obviously.

So global numbers are techically spot on or slightly undertracked...:P

Oh alright, I was wondering if there was some specific reason as to why there was such a huge difference but no apparently this sites figures really arnt credible afterall.

My math is good guys

Still, it's below 100k. Pretty bad.

For Wii U, no it's not :P

Unfortunately if you have pr prefae a statement with "for" then it's pretty bad regardless. But a YoY increase going in to the 3rd year, with a price cut no doubt in the wings, is always better than a decrease, so  it is good news no matter what the actual numbers are.
