Forums - Nintendo - codename steam review thread! 72 metacritc!

The score isn't the issue. Look at the GameSpot review. His biggest complaint is that enemies have idle animations so it takes actual timing to shoot them. This is supposedly a problem for some reason. He also complains that the characters don't "level up or change" while admitting that you can get them new gear and weapons, but apparently that doesn't count because they aren't absolutely necessary for progression.

Of course this happened. GameSpot set a complete nobody to review the game. As far as I can tell, this is only his second review for the site -- previously he was a writer for Paste Magazine. Compare that to IGN, who gave the review to Jose Otero, the head of their Nintendo coverage and a longtime writer for IGN and, before that, 1UP.

The fact the game can make a legit miss to look like it struck home (and presumably a direct hit to look nowhere near) is pretty silly.

As for the second point, it seems pretty clear what he means; that the Valkyria Chronicles progression is interesting and integral to the experience, while the one in Code Name STEAM is uninteresting and can be almost comletely ignored.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Just watched GameXplain and IGN reviews, pretty good those two. GX loved it (they don't give scores), Otero gave 7.9, but also liked it.

gs attack again

Great. I'll be able to purchase it for $20 soon then.

Lol but seriously I'm glad reviewers are being harsher at the moment. 75 is still good score and we need to adjust away from everything being high
80.
BTW I agreed with gamespots skyward sword score

Yep, 75 meta now since IGN's 79 was put in.

Did quite good. But come on IS, try to do something more ambitious.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

IGN: "7.9/10. Too much steam."

75, nice! I hope it ends up a little higher when is released on Europe (May)

Still day 1 for me : )
