If you want to call that a smear campaign, then every high profile exclusive ever made has had a "smear campaign" against it, hence it becomes meaningless claim. Every game gets trolled, that's nothing new or special.

I'm getting conflicting answers, so let me sort this out for you.

When developers have to explain their version on twitter after being smothered with questions about rumors, that is when it becomes special.

When many people with the same agenda that rate 0 on metacritic and say "don't get this game it sucks" without posting a well thought out constuctive post, you might say that it is not a smear campaign, but just a troll. News flash, it is the samething.

This console war is fought by trolls, smear campaigns/downplays is their weapon. Believe it.

Again, if that is what you're going to call a smear campaign, then every game has it, and it's a meaningless claim. There was no coordinated and systematic effort to vilify and discredit The Order, just the scattered trolling that goes with every high profile exclusive and is just a natural counterbalance to the zealous hyping of the fans.

It was good, maybe not your thing but it did certain things VERY well, but yeah it has its problems.

Right. Bad writing, chiche story, painfully cliche plot points, cliche blanket characters with absolutely no developement, terrible enemy AI, poor enemy variety, poor weapon variety, bad stealth sections, unresolved plot points, bad werewolf fights, abysmal and recycled boss fights, anticlimactic final boss fights, anticlimactic endings, poor world building, poor interactivity with the world, no degree of exploration, gameplay-detrimental aspect ratios, no replayability, and no extra content are not my cup of tea.

Also, more than half of the game was either QTE's or cutscenes so that's not my thing either.

Seriously, the game's bad. This has nothing to to with "tastes." It's not a good game. Until anyone can come up with a well thought out counter argument to any of the repeated to death arguments above on why The Order isn't good regardless of length or tastes, the universal virdict will hold true. Just because it works (barely, at 30fps) doesn't mean it's automatically good. Other M was a polished game, too.

You think haters need a coordinated effort to downplay an exclusive that is not on their perfered console of choice? lol No way man, these things happen almost simultaneously as soon as they get something to complain about, and then they become a troll army..

How about the psn store.  4 stars out of 5

The Playstation audience will obviously be skewed more towards positive scores. People like to defend  their brand of choice.

Or maybe the people who bought it actually got what they wanted.  I've seen plenty of low star ratings for shit games.

I have a odd question. Is 600k FW on a userbase of 20m a good thing? I mean that's not even 5% attach rate. Its barely 3%. And god knows how many copies were returned, or were rentals.

Its clear you really were sleeping while watching your friend play it. The writing was brilliant, the acting one of the best in any game, the narrative was interesting and the atmosphere was incredible. Weapons were great and fun to use, but you wouldn't know that if you just watched someone play it. I wouldn't say you're entirely wrong, but mostly, yes.

Not even close to half the game was QTE. You're clearly exggerating, though I guess its not a surprise coming from a Wii U fan who likes to put PS exclusives down. Thing is, if you hate PS so much, don't bother saying anything about it, cuz whenever you do, your bias is loud and clear.

Every game has trolls, especially high profile exclusives. The Order didn't recieve poor reviews because of any clandestine anti-Sony conspiracy, it recieved poor reviews because its design was contrary to the values most reviewers use to assess a video game's quality.

600k doesn't include rentals lol. Trying to put this down too hard, aren't we. Its almost sold as well as Bayonetta 2, attach rate doesn't matter when a game sells and it doesn't make up the costs of a game either if a game has a good attach rate and poor sales.

Btw its FW attach rate is higher than Bayonetta 2.

For multiplats maybe, but I suspect exclusives benefit greatly from fans defending their brand. (Not just on PS either) How are the ratings for or Killzone Shadowfall and Driveclub? (Games that have mixed reviews)
