I'd never give up my 60gb.  Full BC ftw.

step 1: go to sonys website and see how many if any at all of your ps2 games have issues on the 80gb.  if its only one or two go to step 2. if it's a bunch go to step 3.

step 2: buy a 80gb

step 3: buy a 60gb 

My parents got mine at Sams club...back in Christmas though....they all might be wiped out of the market now.

I created a thread about 20gbs that were available at a few Toys R Us' for just $299. K-Mart has brand new 60gbs too. How do I know? They had two when I put one on layaway. I got a 20gb one from a guy and cancelled my layaway.

The phone is your best friend. Call around and see if they have them in stock. Some places still do, but you have to make sure it's a 60 and not an 80gb. The 60gb and the 20gb PS3s are the best ones - and the only ones with hardware PS2 BC.

For a brand new 60gb, expect to pay about $499 for it. 

The only way to buy a ps3 with BC is purchasing the 80gb ps3.

Thats correct, but its a very hard challenge if you want to buy it new.

Apparently, you didn't read my post. I had a brand new 60gb PS3 on layaway at a local K-Mart. K-Marts still have them - not a lot, but a few of them. Plus, Toys R Us had the 20gb PS3 listed at $299 - but quickly sold out.

You just have to look a wii bit harder to find them. But ... brand new 20gb and 60gb can be found. And ... if you bought them before Jan. 28th, you could have scored with the 5 free Blu movies too.
