Ok yeah, I'm 5 hours in and this game is amazing so far. My first foray into this series (I'd played P4G on Vita, but not counting that) and I'm already hooked! I will say that the learning curve is pretty steep for a beginner. I'm wasting a lot of play coins/macca being revived. lol

OP, did your playthrough take about 50-60 hours? I've only finished the breakfast quest so at 5 hours in, I think I have a long road ahead of me.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

Generally speaking your full playthrough should be at least 45 hours.

Mine was about 30 as I used a walkthrough when I got through about 80% of the game (I have a huge backlog that I want to get rid of)

I would suggest you set the difficulty down until you get into the swing of things, then adjust it back up if you would like to.

It is such a great game. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Awesome. Great tips and thread. Already enjoying it immensely. :) I'm looking forward to completing the game and discovering more games in the series!

Yeah, some of the characters should have been more involved in the story. Namely the ones below.

I'm currently playing Devil Survivor Overlocked and love it so far so I will definitely pick up Devil Survivor 2: RB at some point.

SEMI SPOILERS (for other people not who I am responding to)

(the childhood friend, Isabaeu and the guy with the green scarf, I don't even remember his name)

Just for reference, which ending did you get? Chaos, Neutral, or Order?

Technically, it's called Law. xD

But I got the Nhilistic ending.

After that I looked up the other endings.

Even though I just started it, I am in love with SMT Devil Survivor Overlocked. If you like Final Fantasy Tactics, you'll love this. It's basically Tactics mixed with SMT battles. It is super interesting.

Neutral is a pain in the ass to get. Wish they didn't make neutral so hard, because that is the position I usually like the best, and it usually is the canon ending. I luckily got it on my first playthrough, but I spent a whole afternoon adding up points and reading spoilers lol.

Yeah geez, so much potential that went nowhere. Isabeau was supposed to be one of the main characters, and yet I can barely tell you anything about her other than that she likes manga. She was so undeveloped that I could barely bring myself to care when....stuff happens (I did Chaos route).

Heh...of the three SMT games I've played, Devil Survivor is definitely my favorite. Persona 4 is also great, but the gameplay is a lot more tedious in my opinion. I enjoyed them both over SMT IV just due to characters alone though.

So true about Isabeau. She seemed like a main character, but she sure isn`t treated like one. She is quite forgetable actually, and that is sad.

I played DS2 only, but I really liked that game. DS is def a good series : ) I almost want to double dip for the 3DS version.
