I think I had an inkling of remorse strangling a few of the goons in The Last of Us. There's something about the pathetic way they claw at your arms and gasp their last breath.....Didn't stop me from playing on, though.
That's definitely a unique situation you're describing, OP. You don't usually see generic bad guys pleading for their lives. I'll have to play the game now and see what you're talking about.
It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P
