Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo's outdated online features and what needs to be done

I mainly agree up to and including point 3...

Paid online would case a huge uproar among, well, basically everyone that use their services for free. I highly doubt that Nintendo's online would just miraculously get better once they start charging people. It will overtime, but it takes time..

I don't think every game should have DLC either. Nintendo likes to make polished and finished games so day one DLC shows that they are really trying to milk money. Large games like Hyrule Warriors, MK8, Pikmin, etc. 3 have DLC which is fine, but not all games should have them.

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Having a paid subscription doesn't make a service better. PSN had dedicated servers established when it was free long before XBL had them on a regular basis. And both services today go down frequently nowadays so a subscription is not going to make Wii U online better

I hate people saying platformers need online multiplayer. You know how annoying it is when somebody pushes you off an edge in Little Big Planet?

Well, that falls under DLC. For $5 you get the pit jump ability that allows you not to die when you get pushed in a pit by a friend.

This isn't real DLC, right?

No.... Yet!

i was with you till four. Ninty is in NO way ready or able to implement any kind of paid online

1. It's good as it is.

2. Absolutely.

3. I don't care.

4. NO, why do some people suggest this, anyway? Two annual subscriptions at 120 dollars... no.

5. No. But I'd still buy a bunch of them.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

#4 is such a facepalm

I hope Nintendo follows Steam's example and not MS or Sony

If Nintendo goes P2P online multiplayer, I'm opt-outing consoles.

If Nintendo had the online structure of the PS3/4, 360/XBO, they would charge for it, anyone who thinks they wouldn't is in for some major disappointment.

I'm surprised that like two of us actually understand what this thread is (based on who has commented).
