Yeah, one single game isn't going to simply change the Wii U's fate.

Though, under the assumption that this one game somehow does extremely well, and actually makes a 180, the one game I'd like to see is something along the lines of a Pokémon MMO/Sandbox.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

This poll is strange imo. Crash Bandicoot or GTA VI exclusively on Wii U? o.O

I doubt that will happen any time soon, if at all. Gotta remember that a lot of people love those three games a lot, so Square will release them all individually first(if they ever do an HD remake of any of them) before we see a "PS1 Classic FF HD remake definitive edition collection!". To be honest, the more I think about it, if they remake FFVII and it has DLC I'll lose it :

This actually makes me wonder why isn't Nintendo developing a game such as this on their own. Instead they are wasting resources on games like Devil's Third, which will make Bayo2 look like a runaway success in terms of sales. I think Ninty could actually make a Watch_Dogs-type game work and finally use that GamePad to something.

Who knows, maybe they are.

Fundamentally, I kind of wonder why Nintendo didn't immediately contact Ubisoft after they showed off that original Watch_Dogs trailer, and say "We want a special version of Watch_Dogs, we'll pay for it but it'll be subject to our QA". Imagine if all of the other versions of Watch_Dogs turned out the way the game actually did, but then the Wii U version was a clear cut above, living up to the gameplay of the trailer (though not the absolute graphical fidelity, of course).

By the way, Devil's Third may not end up being such a waste of resources. Based on more recent comments, it sounds like there have been some overhauls along the way that up the quality significantly. If it lives up to the promises made, it could be a smash hit (although I doubt it'll be anywhere near GTA levels), especially when you factor in the multiplayer it is supposed to have.

How about all those games made Wii U exclusives that would do it, plus a COD exclusive.

It's more than just games sinking the WiiU.

1. Rebranding call it Nintendo 6, or anything but WiiU
2. Dump the touchpad controller, and make a good game pad. The XB1 and DS4 are so much better than the Pro controller it's not even funny.
3. Focus on Japan, pay up for the next Dragon Quest get at least a FFXV port, get the FF7 remake.
4. Mario 64 2. Make a true 3d Mario.
5. Get ports of all the major games, GTA 5, COD, BF, AC. All of these are cross gen except AC Unity no reason they can at least port the last gen versions.
If all of that happened we are still only looking at N64 type sales but at least Nintendo would be taken seriously again.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

That Crash suggestion in the poll would be kickass, but if it's to have the effect Pokémon did on the Game Boy, it has to be a new IP. And to save a system as bad off as Wii U is and bring it up to par with the Wii, it has to be something big. Big as in it shakes up the industry the way Minecraft did.

all the options that involve Nintendo IPs are pointless. They will not change the fate of Wii U. It would have to be something none Nintendo gamers need to buy a console for.

Wii U can't handle the original reveal's graphics, definitely not. Also, if Ubisoft were informed about some quality concerns, I'm sure they would have made the improvements on all versions, not just Wii U.
