My Conclusion:

Third Party Games on Wii don’t sell as bad as some people think… at least so far…

For the best selling Third Party Wii games to boast such numbers compared to it’s predecessors so early in it’s life is a very good sign!

i guess i was wrong then.

but the 3rd party games dotn compare to games lie mario zelda donkey kong metroid prime, w/e nintenboys play.

When it comes to Nintendo consoles, I don't think the problem is that 3rd party titles don't sell very well, but that Nintendo titles just sell far better (as they should). As more games like SSBB, MKWii, Zelda Wii, etc. come out, they'll gradually push 3rd parties out of the top 30 best selling games on the Wii. However, the 3rd party titles will still have sold very well.

So why does everyone complain about Third Party Games selling Bad.

But most games in the INDUSTRY dont compare sales wise to games like Mario Zeld. DK and Metroid games actually dont sell that well and many third party games compare to them JUST fine. Red Steel RaymanRR Carnival Games Mario and Sonic GH and other have sold just as well as Prime 3 and MUCH better than that Donkey Kong Jet race for the Wii.

Its not fair to say most games dont live up to the 7 - 10 million selling games like Zelda and Mario, when across the entire industry there are only like 5 franchises that reach those numbers ANYWHERE. CoD4 might make it, GTA games Guitar Hero and Gran Turismo, Halo and maybe if its luck Gears of War 2 might make it into that league, but outside of those very FEW games ever reach those kinds of numbers. So pointing out that many 3rd party games dont sell that high on the Wii means nothing, because many dont sell that high anywhere else either.

Neither do 3rd party games for other consoles, if you wanna nitpick.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

When more games like Mario and Sonic 2, RE, Final Fantasy, GH4, GH5, Rock Band, Dragon Quest, and Red Steel 2 come out they will gradually push 1st parties out of the top 30 best selling games on the Wii?    Of course, truth is- TP games sell fine on the Wii.

how about some more 3rd party games worth playing? I recently finished No more Heroes which was definitely enjoyable but good single player 3rd party games are definitely lacking at the moment (ports of last generation games don't count).

In general, third party games have never been able to achieve the kind of success that Nintendo has had on their own platforms but there are two reasons for this; the needs of Nintendo's software development teams are what drives the design of their hardware (meaning the hardware and software tend to be a 'perfect match'), and it has been a very long time since third party publishers focused the efforts of their best teams towards Nintendo platforms (meaning most third party publishers are 'outgunned' by Nintendo).
