[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Around the Network

I used to trade in games but I don't anymore...I counted all of my games over the summer (before getting my WiiU or PS4) and I had 168 games. Probably around 190-200 now.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I have thought bout it time to time. I have boxes in storage of old games (PS2 gen and back) that I wonder about selling.

I guess it is sentiment with games and honestly 80% of them be luck to get more than a few bucks for. The other 20% I am attached to like that gold Zelda NES cartridge even if the NES no longer functions.

I would say I am more apt to give them away to someone who would appreciate them than make a quick buck on them.

1.) They don't sell for much

2.) Nintendo games age really well

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

They're mine, and they're not worth trading in for 5, or 6 bucks. If I decide I want to play it one day, it's there. I have about 20 disc games, and about 130 downloaded titles on my PS3 alone.

I refuse to ever trade any of them in, regardless of how bad they are. I'll just have to make sure I don't buy crap. Besides, there's internet websites that pay cash, and I'll get much more money from that than whatever gamestop will give. Hell, that's how I pay for more than half my games anyway.

This is exactly how i feel. I saw what GameStop was doing and just decided to keep my games. Have they gotten better? I know Best Buy does trades to.

@ Cloudman i once traded in about 70 Sega Genesis games and console to get the Xbox wayyyyy back when. Sad cause i really miss the Sega Genesis.

I'm around 230 (though around 50% on PC). I don't like selling games because I enjoy having a nice collection and you never know if you'll want to replay a game.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

I have around 150 games that are physical copies... Probably about 70 more digital...

Honestly I don't trade in games, because I feel they're worth a lot more than a few dollars. I also tend to want to replay most games at some point, even if it's years and years later. There's also very few games that I have ever bought that I actually hated (There's less than 5 that I can think of.), mainly because I do a fair amount of research into the game I'm buying. It blows my mind when I see people trading in stacks of game just to put it towards a single new game :.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

I'm at 40+ for my ps3 alone. The reason I don't is because I don't see the reason of getting $3 for uncharted 1 when I loved that game so much. I know it's an inanimate object, but I'd feel like I'm betraying it if I sold it.

232 according to VGC. Of course that excludes that games I simply cannot get entered into its system. There are about 30-40 PC games on top of that. I'd wager i'm getting really close to 300 if not past that already. Of course are also about about 15 to 20 Atari games and a few commodore 64 games as well.

I keep these games for for several different reasons, not all aply to every game but here goes.

1) Sentimental purposes. Despite my numerous games I generally bought the game after extremely careful consideration. I don't buy many sports or quick games that would normally get discarded the next year. I often play or intend to play each game more than 60+ hours. If the game is good enough ill play them for 100s and 100s of hours (mostly the RPGs).

2) It feels wrong to sell a game I bought for $50-$70 back to a store for like $10-$20 and have them sell it used for $30-$40 or even more. If im going to offload a game I will never play again and have no collection/nostolgia purposes for keeping it, then i'm likely to give it away to a relative or one of my friends kids.

3) I'm also obsessive collector for series that I like. I own many different copies (on different consoles) of the same final fantasy game for instance.
