Forums - Nintendo - /worldend, there is now a shovelware game that I want

Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None

It's a shovelware game with what looks to be a cool murder mystery story and a point and click adventure. I think review gameplay flames have been highly overexxagerated, considering the game is all about the story.

I want this game and will buy it probably, lol. I know that's bad, because it is shovelware with terrible reviews mostly, but I really want it.

Some people would consider the Phoenix Wright DS games shovelware though(Not me, PW and sequels are NOT shovelware and the best games on the DS), if your going by those standards.

I think shovelware is an overused classification, imo.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

In before Naznatips verbally castigates you for saying 'Phoenix Wright' and 'shovelware' in the same sentence.

He'd get over it, lol, and just to make this clear:

I LOVE Phoenix Wright games. I own them all. Its my favorite series on the DS, and so far this generation.

The gameplay and characters, however, are recycled, and the reason I love it, is the stories and character development.

Reviewers keep lowering there scores as the franchise progresses.

I know PW isn't shovelware, but calling out a story based game for having mediocre gameplay, and using that as a justification for calling it shovelware, could be translated to Phoenix wright, and that's why I think it's wrong to call AC shovelware(not as wrong as calling PW shovelware, but still wrong).

That is what I was trying to say. PW is NOT shovelware.

PS: LMAO, I hit post and it took a second to respond and I thought I was banned before the explaination. I added parenthesis part to my original post to make it clear to any new readers.

I was actually looking forward to this game too..
I'ma sucker for a game with a good story and puzzles.
Yet the review scores have scared me a bit.
If some one can get a hands on impression(when it's released) and tell me how the wiimote is being used that would be great.
The envoriments look okey but the character models are aweful.

I'm going in for the story, but I'm sure the gameplay will suck. IGN's review is really low, but they said fans of the genre would probably like it.

I dont know anyone who thinks Phoenix Wright games are shovelware. They are great games and widely respected.

I'm surprised to see all the bad reviews, the mag I read (nRevolution) gave it 72. They were basically saying if you're a fan of her novels or point and click adventures then get it.

"If you're a fan of Agatha Christie it's a no-brainer, but we'd urge other gamers to give it a go too. It's a bit clunky, but the intrigue will suck you in big time."

Anyone who claims they don't buy shovelware is full of it.

there's always going to be something you like that's not AAA.

I've got no problem with shovelware especially this type of "shovelware", frankly if a publisher/developer wants to bring as many point and click adventures as possible to the wii I'm all for, plus you never know Lucas Arts might try to "cash in" by brining Sam & max or Grim Fandango to the wii, seriously I'd drop 50 dollars on Grim Fandango on a console in a heart beat (modern computers for some strange reason struggle with running Grim Fandango)
