OH MY GOSH how many different ways can we explain it?

Your banner benefits yourself.

Posting a VGChartz banner somewhere promotes this site. I would not mind if someone had a Gametrailers banner in their signature, but a banner in place so that you can get free stuff by using us, well it's just that, you're using us.

What we're saying is, we don't like being advertised to by you, and we'd prefer it if you kept website adversitements out of your sig, unless it's a link to a site where there's no "stuff" involved. We're just an information site, GameTrailers is just a video site, IGN is just a videogame site, they're not selling crap or offering free crap for advertisement deals.

Ah, awesome. Never tried that before :)

I'm now blocking *every* single image I see in any sig. If it was up to me, sigs would be text only, no links - and restricted to 5 lines maximum. Some of them are just ridiculous.

I tried for a while to PM and politely ask people who used animated gifs or vids in their sigs to remove them - but gave up after a while. I'm happy enough to block everything manually.

(the extra load times for each page is annoying enough)


That's pretty much what I do.  ^_^

There are a few pictures I let slide simply because I enjoy seeing them.  Naznatips' banner signatures are usually pretty cool so I don't block those for example, but many others are just annoying.

Not at all...I've been doing that with cheeto's sig as well as some other random poster who was using quicktime gifs of link and zelda. Gifs are easy....it's the text that's a bitch.

You made it smaller....and it's still too big. Why bother...I just adblock you....no conflict, no problems.


Too big =/? SSJ12 said it was okay (now). Well it is only for a few days though..=p.


 I'd hardly call that a glowing recommendation.  It's not a matter of it being allowed by VGChartz or acceptable by a mod.  It's just a matter of common decency and not trying annoy half the board with your sig.  Unless, of course, that is your aim.  Either way....A little adblock and I couldn't care less.  If you're so worried about it, just reduce the size.  If you're not, don't worry about it.
