Not really. Hype doesn't really affect my purchasing decision one way or the other

But did you ever purchase and enjoy a game then think that it might be a little overhyped when everyone still talks about?

Yea I did but I wouldnt say it killed the enjoyment of the game for me

Never happened to me.

When I like a game, I want to share it with everybody, show it to my friends, in case they end up liking it as well.
So if a game is good, it deserves all the attention it can get. So I love when games I like get a lot of hype.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Others hype doesn't affect how I feel about a game. Others hype also doesn't change my own hype either.

Depends how often you read/look up on the game and comments from gaming sites or people.

Hype doesn't kill anything for me, but it can make me make a bad decision and purchase a game, like people on this site tell people Final Fantasy 13 is a great game. Cannot believe I bought into that.

I don't usually get overhyped. I think it's because I've always got games to get through. A massive playstation backlog. That keeps my mind off upcoming releases.

If the last guardian ever comes out the disappointment will be fucking hilarious for most, while I'll likely enjoy it way more because I've zero hype for it.

I usually buy a game I would replay a few times, otherwise I would buy it when it's on sale. I still have a huge backlog though.

does your backlog have a game that you didn't finish for some reason but the fanbase and praise it's still getting made you never return to it?

Makes sense. I think I choose a really click baity title that doesn't align with the OP.

My backlog is mainly games I got for free with ps plus.  Along with others I bought on sale like shadow of mordor and metro last light

Nothing happened to me.

Not really. If I like a game then I'll still like it even if it gets too much attention. I don't dislike or try to ignore the product, I'd just get tired of hearing about it.
