Nah, they'll just have to wait until Nintendo goes 3rd party.

All I can think of when I see this thread is this:
I think both Microsoft and Sony have very few IP's that they can give 'spinoff' titles too, in the sense that when a new game in there 'big series' is coming it's usually a 'main' game. While Nintendo releases so many Mario (and other) games that they need spinoffs to avoid burnout.
I want Uncharted's Sully and Chloe to get their own games.

I mean that people waited eight years for a Banjo-Tooie sequel and then got a spin-off, that's so dickish. Hell, just look at this teaser, there's no indication of it being anything but a platformer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLWLdO9GLWM
That would be like if Nintendo made Super Mario RPG 2, but it was instead a platformer (like Super Paper Mario I guess) |
Not sure what misleading trailers have to do with this.

Ratchet and Clank: A Quest for booty? Infamous First Light? Infamous Festival of blood?
The way Nintendo is making games like Captain Toad and Rainbow Curse is the opposite of what Sony and MS want. They want the bombastic AAA games with guns and bombs and hookers that sell millions and they can tell their shareholders that it sold millions. A humble plan where they make moderately priced games with excellent developers? You're more likely to have the Jaguar 2 happen.

I don't know how many of those are first party. What comes to mind is Halo, Gears, Crackdown, Perfect Dark etc.
