Should Sony and Microsoft start making their own "Captain Toads/Rainbow Curses"?

I think both Microsoft and Sony have very few IP's that they can give 'spinoff' titles too, in the sense that when a new game in there 'big series' is coming it's usually a 'main' game. While Nintendo releases so many Mario (and other) games that they need spinoffs to avoid burnout.
