It would be a nice option if Nintendo puts our Smash Bros and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse's trophies in our Nintendo Network (NN) profile. It would be even cooler if future games displayed your collectibles as well. Imagine having your Pokedex easily viewed on your NN profile so other trainers can request trade with you in Miiverse! Or having a scrapbook with all the 3D World stamps added to your NN profile that you can view anytime.

If Nintendo did this, I truly believe that more people will be interested in getting the system. I say this because Nintendo will find a way to make the virtual reward innovating and fun to display. I hope they do this with either a patch in the Wii U system or implement it in the next Nintendo console.

I don't know if my idea would sell more systems but it would definitely make more gamers take Nintendo Network more seriously!

Well I meant what you said above. Not that trophies/achievements are system sellers. However, if it came down to it that all 3 systems had the same game with the same resolution and framerate...they would still choose the Xbox or PlayStation over Nintendo because the virtual reward gives incentive a self worth of accomplishment. Nintendo really should do them. Either coins (From Mario Bros) or Stars and a Mega Star for completing all of those said objectives. That would be cool. Then again, most gamers don't care about achievements anyway. We're in the minority that do.

I prefer trophies. My first console was xbox 360 last gen so I was introduced for the first time to an achievements system. I got interested in gaining Gamerscore and started the hunt for the highest Gamerscore possible. I was trying to get the maximum achievements for every game but then something hit me. I realized that in most games, it require a lot of times to get all the achievements so if my primary purpose was to get the highest Gamerscore possible, I was better off buying more games and get at least 50% of those games, this way I was able to get to 3000GS in no time without having to get 100% achievement in every game.

At that moment I didn't feel encourage to get 100% in every game, then xbox 360 died on me so I decided to buy a ps3 because I was mad at Microsoft. When I move to ps3, I kind of miss the achievement system but my pride wouldn't let me go back to xbox 360. Then Sony announced the trophy system. When the trophy system were explained, I got interested in getting trophies, but the thing that really made me like the trophy system even more was that not only I was playing to get to the highest level possible but this time around, if I really wanted a platinum trophy, I had to get 100% of those games no matter what. My first platinum was Assassin's creed 2 and wouldn't have gotten all the collectibles if it wasn't for the platinum. With the achievement system, I would have moved on to the next game.

This is obviously my personal opinion as to why I believed the trophy system is better but I really thank Microsoft for introducing it.

Trophies can get you things in real life.
Sony had a bid for greatness contest where the currency you bid with was gold trophies

Tell people that for ever Platinum trophy they get, they earn a $5 discount towards their next game purchase and watch the value of trophies/achievements go through the roof. Also a great way to keep games in people hands longer and not in the used games bin.
