achievements 17 20.48%

stamps 19 22.89%

Trophies, but only because the Platinum Trophy.

Well the Stamps aren't really the same thing. They've only been in a handful of Mario themed games and they're more of a collectable rather than a statistic or achievable goal. You also can't compare them or show them off (as a list of achievements) to other players because they aren't tied to an account or anything. They're just there, to put it bluntly, so someone who can't draw can post a picture on Miiverse.

At face value though, yes I like a postable picture better than a string of text.

Love nintendo stamps

10/10 would buy a wii U

Nintendo Miiverse stamps are a bit annoying, because you can only use them when playing the game with that stamp.. but, better than nothing, i guess

The difference seem to be that achievements and trophies gives u 5 seconds of bragging rights to ur friends where as stamps are actually somewhat useful outside of bragging rights since they are drawings which u can post on miiverse and add ur own drawings to those pre-done drawings

But I guess bragging rights is more important than stamps although I do think Nintendo needs to improve stamps in a way so that you dont have to load up the game in order to access them. Like if they were stored on ur OS or something where u could have access to them all the time, that is one place where stamps would become a lot more viable

Since I've never owned an Xbox I'll have to go with Trophies.

Achievements came first, are on all 360 games from the start, started the fad.

Trophies became after Achievements took off. Most of the launch games don't have them.

Something coming first does not mean it's better than the other though. The person who came up with it first certainly deserves much more credit than the one who copied it. But as for the system itself, what makes them better or worse is a completely different matter. The first TV set the standard for all the TV's today. But I still find my "42 LCD with color better than the "15 black and white thing from nearly a century ago.

Achievements does its job, but the Trophy system takes things one step further. You have Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum trophies, where the rarity of each trophy is assessed against all other PSN players.

Getting a Trophy that only 2% of players have gotten can make you feel like you're part of an exclusive group of players. This is what the Achievement system set out to do all those years ago; give you those bragging rights and instill that sense of accomplishment.
And the way that Bronze, Silver and Gold trophies are split up in difficulty makes it easier to compare them with other users. The Platinum trophy in itself is also something that stands out with Trophies compared to Achievements.
Moreover, on Xbox One they allow you to gain achievements from simply watching movies on apps, or using certain functions on the Xbox One, which kinda makes the system lose some of its purpose when people can gain points from things like that.

Thanks you and I agree with this. Well as far as someone coming out with something first. If we want to be technical, there were PC in game achievements on specific games before there were achievements on 360. So they weren't the first to do it. Just the first to do it on consoles. However, we can expand that to many other features that came out first here and there. That holds little bearing and is irrelevent. It's really preference of why achievements/trophies are better than another. Regardless of the specifics, it's one's opinion. Certainly not because it came out first.

Personally I love trophies better because of the platinum. The rarity doesn't really concern me. However, I like achievements better for arcade games. Both are good imo.

Ok, could you expand on the why?

Do you think Sony would have came up with a universal trophy system if M$ didn't have it to begin with? Props to M$ for introducing a way to rank yourself and give games more replay value. Now it might not be better than Trophies, but a lot of people invested in Achievements before Trophies. So people do find more value in a system that they poured time into and are less reluctant to invest in a new point system, even if it may be better. Look at the iPhone, it introduced an app based mobile system. Android is way better IMO, but people want to stay with where they started. They might have invested in apps already and don't want that to go to waste.

Having an inferior system is not always better, it all depends on the value people attach to them. The 3DS is inferior to the PSV, but people buy that Shit up like hotcakes. Why? Because the games are fun. The games hold more value than trophies. As for me, I'd rather have trophies and play my PSV before playing my 3DS. I would rather torture myself with playing a bad game just to get e-penis points.

Trophies because they're categorized and a high gamesscore or even looking at just a high trophy count can only tell you this person plays a lot of games. They're fun to collect though.

It would be a nice option if Nintendo puts our Smash Bros and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse's trophies in our Nintendo Network (NN) profile. It would be even cooler if future games displayed your collectibles as well. Imagine having your Pokedex easily viewed on your NN profile so other trainers can request trade with you in Miiverse! Or having a scrapbook with all the 3D World stamps added to your NN profile that you can view anytime.
