the very important point is the Arcade at 199 euros !! that is pretty low compared to a 40gb PS3 and that could make a TRUE difference.

The 360 has been trashed in my home country (the Netherlands) on national tv multiple times by respected sources. Dutch people in general are too critical to get failing hardware at any price. Only thing they accomplished with this is that the arcade now comes within reach of all 14 year olds who think pirating games is fashionable.

Crap, PS3 was just gaining momentum! X360 is going crazy! I'm SO happy i live in The Netherlands!... Btw, X360 got kinda bashed here in The Netherlands, X360's scratching discs, overheating etc... I believe our gouvernement or the EU even let Microsoft pay 800 million Euro's by using the European court.

EDIT: I'm still not getting an X360 though... I already have a PS3 and a Wii and i think it covers (almost) the whole thing this generation has to offer! Also i don't like the RRoD. Almost Every X360 is bound to break at some point within 0-3 years because of it and that failure-rate is just TOO high for me! And PS3 has Blu-Ray ... 

This is a pretty good sign. :) I can't wait until a $50 price drop in the U.S., the PS3 will get hammered. :) Hopefully they announce it before GTAIV's release, the meltdowns will be epic. :)

you are over-estimating the price drop effect by a huge margin..

The 360 saw one price drop of 50 Euros in August of 07... After the console was 1 1/2 years old. It also saw a pretty solid sales jump during that time though Halo 3 surely had a fair amount to do with the spike. Now, 8 months later, we're seeing another 70/50/50 Euro price drop on the consoles... Which is more of the price reduction schedule consoles should look at in their second and third years on market. Most importantly, this puts the 360 in the mass market price range... 200-300 Euros is pretty good when the PS3 starts at 400 Euros.

Anyway, the 360 should see a pretty significant sales jump because of this and it should continue through the GTA IV release... After that, I think Sony will probably be looking at another price drop and depending on whether that happens or not, it's anyone's game until early 2009 when Sony should be rolling out FFXIII and GT5. MS needs to really make an impact with Banjo, Gears 2, Fable, etc. this holiday season if they want to even compete in the European market in 2009.
