It doesn't have to be dead beat accurate WW1 game either, we can create an alternative story that is fitting with histoical events during WW1. Have some creativity of the potential of an great idea! Unlock the possibilities! stop living inside that box and release your inner creativity! learn some history, mix it in with so many amazing events. It can even be an secret event that happen during the WW1 that we doesn't know about, just like with Captain america and red skull. Everything is possible. I just seee WW1 as a perfect setting for a game, due how dramatic and horrible it was. Overdrown trenches with infestations of sicknesses.

WW2 can work as long as it's not the typical US marines, AIrborne vs Germans, cause all that have already been covered. There is a lot of more richer stories from WW2 from the English, Plolish, Jews, Norwegians ( they did break into a giant atom bomb facility, armed to the teeth and managed to sabotage the entire factory, stopping the germans from winning the war with finishing the atombomb ) and then we have the russians who managed to sneak all the way into poland and sabotaged railroads and killed germans in the woods.   Germany best soldiers was stationed up in russia, died by the russian winter could also be a perfect scenario for a game in WW2. The nazi's themselves worked at the consentration camps, while the german army ( who wasn't aware of what was going on with these camps ) fought in the war. a lot of them tried to escape the war which can also be a good story, a german soldier who no longer wanna be in the war, trying to escape russia with having Russia and germany as his enemy.

WW1 have never been done, even though it's hard to really transform it into a FPS, it's still doable, cause the story doesn't have to be realistic, it can be alternative story like science fiction, the science part is the historical settings, the fiction is the fantasy around it. Possibilities are always there
