What I'm trying to gather from this poll, is if you haven't purchased an "8th" generation console, which is your current main one and why.
When looking at the past couple years of sales numbers for the latest home consoles from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, I wondered if the previous issue left a sort of hangover with gamers. What I mean is, I was trying to see if there was a correlation between choosing, for example, the Wii but not the Wii U or the Xbox 360 but not the Xbox One. The reason I am curious, is because of the early differential between console sales figures.
As a Wii U owner, I did not own the Wii because by the time I got around to the purchase, I wanted the support of the company behind the product. Aside from the games I wanted to play, Nintendo was ending many of its services for the Wii and I wanted the better experience. I did own an Xbox 360 but wasn't interested in the new direction Halo was taking and wasn't confident with their hardware after losing one console to the red ring of death and it's refurbished replacement being very noisey.
Other questions linger, like is there a migration to one console or are people holding off for particular games? Was there a bad experience with their previous console? In Playstation 3's case, did anyone decide to wait for the Playstation 4 and skip a generation? Perhaps some of our situations can help illustrate how we've arrived at such sales numbers between these three.
