Really? I thought it was just stuff like this But if it does go all the way up to Wii U level and everything in between then that is quite a big difference! |

I hope he will be putting just as much emphasis on metacritic scores once this generation has matured a bit.
Cause if it goes like last gen Nintendo will have published the least amount of well reviewed titles than either Sony or MS. It's easy to be in the lead now when Wii U has had majority of it's franchises that review highly already released while Sony and Microsoft haven't released any of their big guns yet.

I'm not assuming they are going to score low for no reason, I'm assuming they are going to score low because they don't look like good games. Hence why I left out Zelda U and Xenoblade since I fully expect them to both 90+ scores. Splatoon looks like a low content, low price indie game. The only way I can see it doing well is if it priced accordingly, but it sounds like it will be full priced so I expect it to get a lot of criticism because of that (similar to Ground Zeroes and The Order) As for Yoshi, just look at the score the latest Kirby game got. I can see it scoring about the same. Mario Maker looks like a Littlebigplanet clone with SNES level graphics, considering how poorly LBP3 did I'd expect the same if not worse here. Project Steam just looks archaic. Like Splatoon it may actually do well if it is sold for a cheap price though. Puzzle & Dragon is a casual orientated game only popular in Japan, I fully expect it to get torn apart by western reviewers on metacritic. A 40/40 on famitsu wouldn't surprise me in the least though. |
"Splatoon looks like a low content, low price indie game." I feel like you haven't seen the latest information about the game. Its certainly centered on the multiplayer but it looks like its single player mode is pretty fully featured from from what we've seen. Not to mention the obvious attention to detail within the game's plaza and customisation options. Doesn't hurt its been so well recieved at so many events.
"As for Yoshi, just look at the score the latest Kirby game got. I can see it scoring about the same." Why? They're from different teams and have different mechanics?
"Mario Maker looks like a Littlebigplanet clone with SNES level graphics, considering how poorly LBP3 did I'd expect the same if not worse here." So basically you tuned out when it showed off having different modes with different physics tied to different graphical styles? And ignored the core game being based on far more badass gameplay physics than Little Big Planet's platforming lends itself to? And are ignoring the incredibly elegant adaption of the Mario Paint interface using the gamepad for added elegance? Okay...
"Project Steam just looks archaic. Like Splatoon it may actually do well if it is sold for a cheap price though." Archaic? So there were Gears/Fire-Emblem hybrids on Commodore? I don't see it selling well but I definitely see it scoring 85+
"Puzzle & Dragon is a casual orientated game only popular in Japan, I fully expect it to get torn apart by western reviewers on metacritic. A 40/40 on famitsu wouldn't surprise me in the least though." I think you're underestimating just because its casual oriented, and I understand why you would BUT I don't think being casual compatible makes it a bad game, especially since I know core gamers who have discussed it being among the few games from THAT scene that they find addictive. Maybe you've played it yourself and have good reason to be contrarian on this point however.
Oh wait, you were genuinely ignorant on Mario Maker's modes? My bad, I took a tone based on assuming that was trolling.
Well, its one of their only ways right now to try to make gamers buy their games. Their games ARE good in all honesty (even though i welcome the removal of review scoring by a few sites)
FMD kotaku really? that is your source?
The fuckwits complained about how Nintendo didn't release enough Majora Mask new 3DS XL consoles. Guess they don't know WTF LIMITED MEANS.
Then when sony released a 20th Anniversary PS4 which is more rarer they were all praises and even gave one away. How about us Sony fans who missed out on those consoles?
Hey man, good news is good news. It's like those really shit movies that quote 4 star reviews during their trailers from hand picked critics.

Except with freaking Metacritic which representation the mainstream media.
Not say Metacritic is perfect, but it defo represents the mainstream media.
Very very sad. But what can you expect from a man like Iwata? What a disgrace.
Well Meta critic is scientific resource to judge how good your sales is, especially when you presenting the info to investor meeting, because investor is gamer who care for meta number, (sarcasm )
