There are a lot of sub HD title on the PS3, but 1280x720 titles are hardly rare. There's hundreds of them. Same with the 360.

Hundreds?! I don't wanna see a list but... I really doubt this. Same for 360.

Yep, there are literally hundreds on both. Of the 330 retail PS3 games on that old B3D list (a very outdated list, but that somewhat highlights the point), 215 of them run at 1280x720. Including digital titles and those not listed, i'd guess both the PS3 and 360 have at least 400 720p+ titles.

I have to admit, it is a lot more than i was expecting too.

The question is:

Would MS do anything to prevent PSNow from working on Xbone ?

That's an interesting question. On one hand having PSNow on the X1 would put it on equal grounds with any other platforms with the service, but it would also give PlayStation a direct window into the Xbox playbase. If someone really enjoyed games like GOW, TLOU or Uncharted, they may be inclined to buy a PS4 to play their successors.

Oh indeed, I saw the list at b3d. Well, seems Sony made the right decision for 720p limit on PSNow.

I believe Sony's final ambition is to have all their games available in the cloud.  Instead of buying a PS4 to play the sequels of the games you mentioned, people would just subscribe to PSNow and that's what could hurt MS.  Microsoft also has a cloud agenda.

They are both eventually going in the same direction so who will hurt who is not settled yet as there are way too many problems that have to be solved to make game streaming a substitution for your local console.

I'd say so, though hopefully (like you mentioned earlier) they can find a way to have the game rendering at a native 1080p one day. Not sure how they'd manage that though, since i think they're using actual PS3 hardware right now (the Cell and what not).

Well, the tech itself I guess is independant of the underlying hardware so it would be easy to setup a data center with PS4 APUs. 1080p would of course require more bandwidth which has to be existent on both sides, consumer and Sony's data centers and traffic, even nowadays, doesn't come cheap for distributors. But in the end it will definitely get there (or better, it has to) but I guess it will take several years from now since Sony has to get some money back off PSNow after all what they had to invest. I guess that they didn't launch in Europe yet is another sign that the whole service is quite cost-intensive.

Agreed.  Everything about cloud services is still 5 to 10 years away from being definitive.

I just think whoever establishes its service first will be in advantage when the infrascructure is ready.

Well the last playstation system I enjoyed was ps2, so I would use it to play a few of my old favorites. If it's mainly ps3 games then I'll pass.

I would laugh my ass off if Sony proposed the Service to MS and they're like:

"We evaluated the PSNow subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value Xbox customers have come to expect"
