Vitro, who said something to make you think that way?

It still means something. I get that it wasn't exactly a promise, but it's a perfect example of how Peter always seems to be engaging in a public brainstorming session (I think this is the kindest possible interpretation of his behavior) when he's supposed to be speaking in an official capacity. |
That's true, but when you're using that as an example of a lie, I do think that distinction is important.
I couldn't get through this interview because the interviewer kept calling Peter a liar without bringing up a solid example of lying. Jim Sterling made a better argument, I think. Kind of a shame he wasn't the one who conducted the interview.

No intention to watch the video, but isn't Schafer another one of those guys who screwed over their audience with a kickstarter project? |
No? I invested over $100 into his game, and I got the first half of it next year, and I'm getting everything else in a few months. It took much longer than promised, sure, but I've also really loved the first half of the game so...I can't say I care.

Yeah, I think the interviewer was too intent on playing gotcha for his own good.
Peter doesn't seem like he intentionally tells lies. But it does seem like his word means nothing to him. I don't lightly tell or even suggest to people that I'm going to do things because then I feel compelled to follow through on it, even if no promise was made, so it rubs me the wrong way that Molyneux does this habitually. I think we all understand that things change in game development (well, most of us do... the interviewer couldn't seem to grasp that someone can't know exactly how long a game will take to make), but he constantly betrays expectations that he himself has set without even bothering to explain why it was necessary let alone apologize for it until he's in the middle of yet another media firestorm.

Tim Schaffer has a dog in this fight though. Let's not forget how his own projects, including his kickstarter projects, have gone so far.
I made it about half way before I could not read anymore. Its feels like Peter is in front of a firing squad and this is his last chance to answer for his crimes.

I'd say Peter is like a small child when doing games; and when asked about it, he fantasises over things that won't be able to become, unintentionally, because he's enjoying the ride way too much.

I completely agree. I was just noting that he was really, REALLY passive in his support. And I think that is because he knows he is walking a very fine line himself with his fans as well.

I'd say that's a pretty accurate assessment!
