The game would have survived all the bad articles, it would have even survived a 60 score metacritics, but there is no way the game will survive a Patcher prediction
. Patcher just doomed the game.

Yeah, 3 million seems like a much more reasonable guess, maybe 4 million if it's well received (75+ meta) and has some decent bundling.
Suppose we'll have to wait and see though. |
I third that! I see this game selling about 3.3-4 million when it's said and done.

Pachter may have a point, even though I suspect his numbers are (very) inflated.
In a way, The Order: 1886 reminds me of the original Uncharted. Both are new action-adventure/shooters with a focus on graphics and story made for a new PlayStation console. Like The Order, Uncharted was single-player only, could easily be beaten in under 10 hours (veterans can apparently rush through Uncharted in 3 hours), and did not necessarily have the most innovative gameplay.
As it turned out, the original Uncharted ended up selling nearly 5 million lifetime, despite being released at a bad point in the PS3's life. VGChartz data also suggests that this was not just a side effect of the sequel's success, seeing as the game sold best before Spring 2009, aka the PS3's tough era.
Assuming The Order is at least good at what it's trying to be, Sony can easily use it to sell the PS4 as a powerhouse, bundle it in multiple regions, and create a fanbase to guarantee a future for the franchise (along with keeping Ready at Dawn's interests close to Sony's). It can basically be the same cycle as Uncharted had last gen, but this time it could be even more successful because the PS4 is doing better than the PS3 did.
It won't even do 5 millions lifetime i expect 3 or 4 millions
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

No, it hasn't.
I know it will sell pretty well but it seems pretty high. 5m by the end of the year should be possible if it's really as anticipated as I think it is.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Only thing I agree with is bundling would be a great idea down the road. In a bundled it's perceived value would be a non issue and it would work well to show a new purchaser the power of their new console.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
Welp i know Amazon is not 100% when it comes to software but still the pre-orders are pretty strong for both regular and collector's edition. This game will probably have a really good FW.Legs will depends on the general reception(Reviews + WoM).
I can see 3 million until Holiday season and if Sony bundle this game for holiday season i can see 5 million this year.
Still,it's Pachter so the game will either flop or be the next GTA.
5 mil life time with bundling is very attainable. but 10? keep dreaming patcher xD. without bungling life time 3 mil , maybe?
Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out
Ps4:110million
Xbox one :75 million( was 65)
Wii u: 20 milliion
Yeah i'd say 2.5 - 5 million depending on how well its received and to what degree its bundled. Anything more and its into uncharted territory.
