Forums - Gaming - Something's missing this generation...what is it?

No JRPGs. Also it's the fact that nearly every major title so far is cross gen. once Fallout 4, ES6, FFXV, GT7, Halo. 5 come out the gen will gain some identity.

This made me laugh^^

It needs time. We still have a good 3-6 years to go so still betting major new IPs can happen.

The Last Guardian

Sega

That or a decent Sonic title.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Good games that aren't ports or last gen multiconsole?

Bloodborne and Witcher 3 are releasing soon, we may get good next gen exclusives soon.

Around the Network

There seem to be more good games than last gen, maybe too crowded?

PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One

Lack of games. The market became cut-throat with the rush the previous generation did into HD. Many companies went under and the ones we have left are mostly the rehash titles yearly variety.

There are few titles and far between. There are few next-gen exclusives because they are risky. There is less variety because it is risky. Basically, we are driving into a corner and the walls keep getting closer. One day people will get fed up of FPS' and this will all come crashing down.

I totally agree with the op but I can remember a time when people were blasting the 7th gen, too.

Yea... The filthy 7th gen.  Go back to your shooterbox.

It feels a bit stale to me since I'm seeing remakes or HD versions of games from not too long ago, multiplats being bought up to becoming exclusives (both sides), not really that amazing mind blowing "i must buy this platform" kind of games imo, this gen doesn't really make me excited or happy than what last gen brought, I had a right good time with MGS4, getting into gears of War and havig a blast with MW2, that and we actually had a slew of RTS games back then compared to now.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
